From pounti, a second door was leading to "maergio" ( the kitchen). There was a stone made kiln for cooking and baking and almost always a fireplace. They used to cook with a fire of woods. The smoke was going out from "feggiti", a hole like a big plate in the roof which people used to cover with a rock in case of rain. The door with the skylight (fegiti) on the top was the main way from which the light was coming.
